KARACHI: Minister for Defence – Khawaja Muhammad Asif – on Wednesday alleged that the madrassas funded by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government were providing foot soldiers for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) attempt to take over Islamabad on November 2.
Days before the PTI’s showdown with the PML-N government over the Panama Papers scandal, the minister Tweeted that the religious seminaries funded by the PTI–led KP government were paying back by providing what he said foot soldiers.
In an earlier Tweet, the minister said PTI Chief Imran Khan was not ready to explain millions of dollars the Shaukat Khanum Memorial charity sent overseas and ‘billions collected during 2010 floods’.
