ISLAMABAD: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plans to invest millions of dollars in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), including Gwadar Port, revealed Kingdom’s Ambassador in Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al-Malkiy.
“A high level delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to visit Pakistan soon to discuss various opportunities under the investment plan that is part of vision 2030, given by the Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman,” the ambassador explained while talking to former federal minister Muhammad Ali Durrani, who called on him at the Royal Saudi Embassy on Thursday.
The ambassador said the vision-2030 was a revolutionary programme that encompasses modern economic needs and trends which will be fourth industrial revolution in the world. He expected to attain the economic self-reliance emerging beyond the traditional prospects. Pakistan, as a key partner, can play a pivotal role in this regard for mutual benefit and prosperity of both the brother countries, he added.
“We intend to invest in different segments of Pak-economy including projects, belong to social and public interest that will usher in a new era of economic partnership between the two brothers, further strengthening the existing historical brotherhood,” Nawaf Al-Malkiy said.
Durrani welcomed the Saudi package of investment and the active participation of the KSA in CPEC, terming it another milestone in Saudi-Pak relations as well as furthering the CPEC with new zeal and zest having futuristic impacts in the region.
He also congratulated the ambassador for a warm reception recently organised by the embassy to celebrate National Day of the kingdom. Durrani praised Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and his government for making the best Hajj arrangements.
