KARACHI: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Zone Azad Khan on Friday said that evidences and autopsy reports hint at Sindh Planning and Development Minister Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani killing his wife before himself committing suicide.
According to DIG Khan, Bijarani received a bullet to his head, while his wife, Fareeha Razzaq, was shot twice in the abdomen, while according to the statements of the servants, the couple was having a rift for the past few days.
DIG Khan said that the evidences collected from the scene and post-mortem reports of the two hint that Bijrani shot his wife thrice before shooting himself in the head.
Earlier on Thursday, Bijarani and his wife Fariha Razzaq were found shot dead inside their home in Karachi under mysterious circumstances on Thursday.
A senior investigation official told Daily Times that police were also investigating whether Bijarani had killed his wife and later himself committed suicide or it was a murder case.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has also directed Sindh Police Inspector General AD Khawaja to investigate the case thoroughly whereas the IG Sindh has ordered DIG South Azad Khan to head the investigations.
Bijarani was elected the member of the provincial assembly of Sindh in 2013 from PS-16 (Jacobabad-Kashmore). He was elected an Member of National Assembly (MNA) and Senator in the past.
