LAHORE: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday met Nawaz Sharif at his Jati Umra palace.
A press release by the PM Media Office says, “Wide-ranging issues of national importance and overall situation were discussed during the meeting.”
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar were also present.
The presser read further the government’s efforts to continue developmental agenda also came under discussion.
Abbasi also briefed the meeting about his recent interaction with lawmakers and members of the party.
Earlier, Shehbaz received the PM at the Lahore airport.
Separately, talking to PML-N senators at his office, Abbasi said the government believed in rule of law, upholding democratic ideals and strengthening of institutions in the country.
He said the real challenge for the parliamentarians was to build on the gains made during the past four years. He said the government has contributed immensely towards steering the country out of the challenges faced by it.
Abbasi said the government has put the country back on track and enabled it to return to the path of progress and prosperity by confronting the challenges of bad economy and deteriorating law and order situation.
He said his party has given the concept of corruption-free government and it was indeed a matter of great pride for all that not a single case of corruption in developmental projects has surfaced during the past four years.
Abbasi highlighted the accomplishments made in the areas of economy, power sector, timely completion and implementation of various developmental projects besides ensuring internal security.
He said the government policies have also projected Pakistan’s positive image at international level and restored confidence of the international community, especially foreign investors in Pakistan.
He said this has also been acknowledged by leading international organizations.
The delegation included Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq, Minister for Climate Change Mushahidullah Khan, Minister for Narcotics Control Lt Gen (r) Salahuddin Tirmizi, Minister for Statistics Kamran Michael, Asif Kirmani, Chaudhry Tanvir, Ghous Niazi, Lt Gen (r) Abdul Qayyum, Nisar Muhammad, Pervaiz Rasheed, Saleem Zia, Sardar Yaqoob, Saud Majeed, Shahzaib Durrani, Javed Abbasi, Ayesha Farooq, Kalsoom Perveen, Najma Hameed, Nuzhat Sadiq and Rahila Magsi.
Meanwhile, Abbasi said that the federal government will extend complete support to Sindh in launching development projects and restoration of rule of law and peace in the province.
He was talking to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah who called on him.
During the meeting overall situation of the province with particular focus on development projects, law and order in the province came under discussion.
