MIRPURKHAS: Chairman Municipal Corporation Mirpurkhas (MCM) Farooq Jamil Durrani, Vice Chairman Fareed Ahmed condemned the involvement of Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Senator Hari Ram Kishori Lal in municipal affairs. Carrying banners and placards during a protest on Thursday, the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) backed civic body raised slogans against the Senator at an MCM office set up in a tent. Farooq Jamil said that the PPP Senator has been forcing the workers, councilors and party leaders to join his party, He alleged that Lal was also misusing the Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) for his own benefit and that the CMO had been playing in to his hands. He said that the situation had left them unable to serve the people who voted for them He said that the government should suspend the CMO for acting against the rules of his office and disturbing the provision of civic facilities to citizens and warned that the protest would continue until their demands were met.
