ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq said on Thursday that after the indictment of ousted PM Nawaz Sharif, it was obligatory for the government to stop siding with him and other accused in the case.
Talking to the delegations of various civil society groups at Mansoora on Thursday, he said that it was an insult to the judiciary that federal minister accompany people co-accused of corruption.
“The threat of the ruling junta to the prosecutors is a clear attempt to put pressure on the judiciary and the other institutions,” he said.
He advised the Sharif family to surrender themselves before the law, instead of trying to force the courts to yield.
