ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s bank accounts were seized on Tuesday by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) over charges of tax evasion.
According to the FBR, Rahat’s accounts in Pakistan were seized due to non-payment of approximately Rs 3 million in 2015 meanwhile, an amount of 105,000 rupees was recovered from one of them, work is underway to recover the remaining amount from the other bank accounts.
FBR authorities stated that they had imposed tax amounting to Rs 33,48000 for the year 2015 after they identified a confidential transaction, failing to comply with the FBR’s instructions within due time, the singer’s bank accounts across the country were seized.
