LAHORE: The 17th meeting of the Parliamentary Committee has failed to reach any consensus to pass the National Accountability Law.
The meeting was scheduled on Monday which aimed to remove opposition party’s reservations on the bill.
Members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) objected over nearly finalised the National Accountability Commission (NAC) Bill.
The PTI called upon the law will be implemented on both federal and provincial levels.
The PPP insisted the proposed law should be applicable on federal level and its employees.
Law Minister Zaid Hamid claimed that the committee ended without reaching any consensus as opposition had “other engagements”.
