KARACHI: Rangers detained 11 suspects during search operation in various areas of the provincial capital on Saturday.
Door to door operation was started by rangers personnel in the different areas of Karachi. The operation was conducted on intelligence about the presence of suspected criminals in the neighbourhood.
Almost five suspects were arrested from the areas of Defence, Korangi and Shahra-e-Faisal. The suspects consist of a gang of five members, involved in street crimes and bank robberies.
Moreover, 9mm pistol that was used in the killing of a police officer was also recovered by rangers.
However, almost six suspects were detained in other raids by the rangers. Suspects included target killers, extortionists and street criminals.
Earlier in September 2013, the operation against criminals in Karachi was commenced after the federal cabinet empowered rangers to lead a targeted advance with the support of police.
