KARACHI: The Al-Khidmat Foundation provided interest free loans of Rs 2.7 million amongst 86 artisans and skilled people, including 10 women, in eight districts of Sindh.
In this connection, gatherings were held in Ghotki, Tharparkar, Kashmore-Kandhkot, Thatta and other districts to hand over loan cheques amongst the relevant people.
An Al-Khidmat Foundation official said they had so far extended Rs 35.2 million in interest-free loans in the province. He said the recovery ratio of these loans was very encouraging. He added that these interest-free loans were helping skilled people and artisans maximise their earning capacities; directly assisting low-income families and indirectly helping in poverty mitigation.
He appealed to philanthropists to extend a helping hand to the Al-Khidmat Foundation so that even more people could benefit under the interest-free loan scheme.
